National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program

CUB issues FASTag, an RFID device that is affixed on the windshield of your vehicle to have a cashless and hassle free transit through Electronic Toll plazas at National Highways. CUB FASTag program is part of National Electronic Toll Collection(NETC) initiative rolled out by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), under the guidelines of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Indian Highways Management Company Ltd (IHMCL).

CUB FASTag affixed vehicle will be identified at 460+ Electronic Toll Plaza across National Highways. You should pass through the ETC lanes available and get the toll fee paid from your FASTag wallet which saves waiting time and you don't need to worry about carrying cash for the toll payments. You can use this on-the-fly cashless payment facility to save your precious time and cut down fuel expenses by avoiding snail paced queue's at the tolls.


  • FASTag is read by the tag reader at the plaza and the toll amount is deducted automatically, when the vehicle approaches the toll plaza.
  • 5% cash back for FY 2018-2019 and 2.5% cash back for FY 2019-2020 on all National Toll payments using FASTag.
  • Online top-up of FASTag wallet account through Credit/Debit Card and Net Banking.

  • Tag validity is for 5 years.
  • The minimum amount for recharge is Rs.200/-. KYC customers can recharge to a maximum of Rs.1,00,000/- whereas Non KYC customers can recharge for Rs.10,000/-.

How to get FASTag for my vehicle(s)?

  • Reach any of the CUB Branches.
  • Fill a simple Application form and affix Photograph of Vehicle owner.
  • Provide photo copies of KYC documents of customer & Registration Certificate of Vehicle.
  • Receive the FASTag and load it with money by paying from your CUB account.
  • FASTag shall be affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle by the representative of the bank.
  • Sail through the toll plaza without waiting in queue.

  • MoRTH/NHAI/IHMCL has launched 1033 helpline number for addressing FASTag complaints at toll plaza level. Customer can simply dial 1033 from Mobile/Landline for the following issues:
    • Stopped at the plaza for Tag blacklist reason even through Tag is not blacklisted.
    • Plaza not accepting FASTag
    • Plaza not able to read the Tag
    • Plaza not supporting for monthly pass issuance
    • Any other applicable issue for FASTag.

  • What is CUB FASTag?
    FASTag is an RFID enabled device that can be used to make electronic payments at tolls. It is affixed on the windscreen of the vehicle and enables you to pass through the toll without waiting and paying by cash. Once, the tag is scanned, a prepaid account linked to the tag is automatically debited for the corresponding amount. The linked account can be topped up/recharged as required.
  • Do I need to use any specific lane at the toll plaza to use my CUB FASTag?
    Yes, ETC lanes are available at the tolls for the tag users. Only these lanes have the required RFID infrastructure installed to read the FASTag. In case you enter a cash-only lane, the FASTag will not be read and cash will need to be paid. Currently there are 460+ ETC lane across the National Highway and the ETC centers are growing.
  • How can I buy FASTag?
    Customers can reach out to any of the City Union Bank branches to get the FASTag.

  • What are the documents that I need to get the FASTag?
    Customers are required to bring in the below mentioned original documents as well as a copy of it, to get the FASTag account created.

    • RC book of the vehicle
    • Passport size photo of the vehicle owner
    • PAN Card
    • Driving License
    For corporate(As per our CUB KYC norms)
    • RC book of the vehicle

  • How would I know the fee amount deducted from my account on crossing a toll?
    You will receive SMS alert in your registered phone number whenever balance is deducted from your FASTag account.
  • How will I be informed if my FASTag account balance is low?
    When the FASTag account balance reaches a minimum balance, a low balance SMS alert will be sent to your registered mobile number.You can monitor your FASTag account through customer web portal or call our 24x7 customer care at 18002587200.You will also receive SMS alerts with the available balance on every transit through FASTag lane.
  • If there is no ETC lane on a Toll Plaza, how could I pay my Toll Fee?
    Electronic Toll Centers are growing. As of now, there are 460+ ETC plazas across National and State Highways. If ETC lane is not found on a Toll plaza, please take the normal toll and pay by cash.
  • I have two vehicles, can I use one FASTag for two vehicles?
    No, since a FASTag could be linked with only one vehicle, you will need to take two separate FASTags for the two vehicles.
  • What is the process to get CUB FASTag when I own a other bank/issuer FASTag?
    You need to close the existing bank/issuer FASTag account and remove the tag from your vehicle. Then reach any of the nearest CUB branch to apply for CUB FASTag .
  • Whom should I contact, if incorrect amount is deducted from my FASTag account ?
    You can reach the CUB FASTag 24X7 customer care at 18002587200 indicating your registered mobile number and tag number to get reviewed on the amount deducted or drop-in a mail to with necessary proofs such as transaction details, vehicle RC and vehicle image. If found incorrect, the incorrect deduction will be reversed to your FASTag account.
  • What to do if my CUB FASTag is debited twice at the toll plaza?
    Please get in touch with our Customer Care executives at 18002587200 indicating your registered mobile number and tag number or drop-in a mail to with transaction details. After verification, if excess amount deducted found, it will get reversed to your FASTag wallet.
  • How to know the validity of my FASTag ?
    You can reach the customer care at 18002587200 with the BARCODE and registered mobile number to know the status of the FASTag. The FASTag will get deactivated if not used once in 90 days.
  • What will happen to the account balance on lost tag (FASTag)?
    Once you take a new FASTag account, we will transfer the balance to the new account from the lost FASTag.
  • What if I sell/transfer my car?
    Please get in touch with our Customer Care executives at 18002587200 or reach any of the CUB branch to inform the same. You will get guidance from them in regards to get the FASTag mapped to the new KYC proof.
  • What to do If I relocate to another city?
    Easy. FASTag can be used at all locations. However, ensure to update your current location details. Please get in touch with our Customer Care executives at 18002587200 to update your contact details.
  • How do I recharge the linked account?
    You can fund the account linked to the FASTag very easily. Recharge can be done through Internet banking/ credit card/ debit card by using the customer portal at FASTag Customer Portal. Just login to the portal using the credentials received through sms and load fund from any of the source mentioned above to your FASTag account.
  • Can FASTag be used for passage through toll plazas on the state highway?
    FASTag is presently operational at 460+ toll plazas across National and State Highways. The system is inter-operable and the same FASTag can be used across all the toll plazas under the NETC program. More toll plaza will be brought under the NETC program in the future.   • Is there any other charges applicable for CUB FASTag?
    CUB doesn't charge for blocking the tags or unblocking the tags when required.There is no charge for annual maintenance on FASTag wallet account. CUB doesn't even charge if your FASTag wallet is maintained under zero balance wallet account.
  • How do I generate /reset my FASTag username and password?
    Once your FASTag account is created, please login to the customer portal and register yourself to generate your credentials. Also please enter the other required information in the prompts and the system will send a SMS with your login details to your registered mobile number. Otherwise, you can reach the CUB FASTag 24X7 customer care or drop-in a mail to get clarified.
  • How would I cross toll plaza, if ETC equipment is not working?
    In case ETC equipment is not working and your FASTag account is having sufficient balance, please pay the toll fee in cash at the plaza. Additionally, please call our customer care and also report the issue with the concessionaire.
  • I don't want to use FASTag anymore. What should I do?
    Please contact your nearest CUB branch to deactivate/cancel the FASTag mapped to the Vehicle number. The balance on the FASTag account will be transferred back to your account after verification.
  • In case of harassment/misconduct/discourteous/rude behavior of toll collection staff, what should we do?
    In case of such a scenario, a complaint is to be lodged with respective Project Directors at the toll plaza. Further, the incident may be reported to us via our email at
